Review: Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner from Lush

Review- Ro's Argan body conditioner. Lush. sidneyrose.wordpress.com

I mentioned this product in my Winter Skin Revamp post, but it is so awesome that I decided to do a full review of it.

The Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner from Lush is basically a body moisturiser that you put on in the shower, and then rinse off, similar to using a hair conditioner. This stuff works amazingly well! You can certainly use it as your only body moisturiser. I tend to double up and use this about every other shower, and then apply a lotion when I get out as well, for an extra layer of skin conditioning. I find it works the best if you leave it on the skin for a minute or so before you rinse it off (again, similar to a hair conditioner).

The texture is very similar to the other body lotions from Lush (I’m thinking of Dream Cream here), but a bit thicker. It is fairly expensive I would say, but the ingredients are top notch (REAL rose absolute and argan oil) and a little goes a long way.

Apart from how well it works, my favourite thing about this product is the smell. It is the most divine rose scented product that I have ever tried. If you like the scent of real rose, you will love this. Since they use authentic rose absolute, it really smells like a rose garden or something. Ha. The scent also lasts on the skin very well. For a product that you rinse off, I would say that is pretty impressive!

This is one of my absolute favourite products from Lush and my shower wouldn’t be as good without it!

Have you tried Ro’s Argan? Do you like the idea of a Body Conditioner?

Winter Skin Revamp

Let’s face it, our skin hibernates a bit in the winter. Covered in long pants and sweaters, we can forget to really take care of it the way we should. Not to mention how the cold weather and central heating dry it out.

These are my steps to waking up winter skin and getting it back into good condition.

1) Basic Exfoliation: You need the right tools to get started. A loofah, a good razor and a body brush for the rougher bits are my necessities. I like the Schick Intuition razor because you don’t have to be bothered with shaving foam. Any body brush will do, but I’m a fan of The Body Shop’s Cactus Body Brush.

2) Intense Exfoliation: When you’ve been neglecting the skin a bit, it might need some extra help. There are some fantastic body scrubs out there, but they can be pretty expensive. This DIY one is super simple and cheap. Just mix olive oil and a little lemon juice into normal granulated sugar until it forms a nice paste consistency. You can also simply mix sugar or table salt with some shower gel. I suggest doing this a couple of times a week until your skin gets back into shape.

3) Moisturize! The Kiehl’s skin softening body lotions are really amazing. They are super hydrating and sink into skin very well. I love the scent of the Fig Leaf & Sage lotion. I also like to double up on moisturizer sometimes and use the Ro’s Argan body conditioner from Lush in the shower and then apply a lotion once I get out as well. This body conditioner smells heavenly too. A couple of budget lotions that I absolutely adore are the Aveeno Creamy Moisturizing oil (which smells like sweet almonds and absorbs very well), and the Vaseline Intensive Rescue. I have the unscented version of this, but it does still have a subtle pleasant scent and it WORKS. It’s a great moisturizer.

4) Don’t forget the feet! Just because they won’t be in sandals for while, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get some love too. I like to use more intensive, thick lotions on my feet. The Peppermint Foot Lotion from The Body Shop is very nice, and I also find the The Body Shop’s body butters are great for the feet, because they are so thick (and they smell awesome!).
