Review: Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Deep Conditioner

Review: Palmer's Deep Conditioner - sidneyrose.wordpress.com

I picked up this sample package of Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Organi-Gro Deep Conditioner. I try to deep condition my hair about once or twice a month and this one was quite inexpensive, so I thought I would give it a shot.

The scent is very mild and somewhat boring; it smells very much like a generic soap. The instructions say to put it on damp hair out of the shower and leave it on for 2-5 minutes before rinsing it off. I sprayed my hair to make it slightly damp and then worked the product in and left it for about 45 minutes. One thing that bothered me a little bit was that there was hardly enough product to do all of my hair. My hair is very long, but it is not particularly thick, so I think if you have thick hair, you may not have enough product in this sample package.

I did like the effect that this deep conditioner had on my hair though. It made it slightly softer, shinier and more manageable, which are the things that I tend to look for in a deep conditioner.

Overall, this deep conditioner did the job. If you are looking for an inexpensive, good-value-for-money deep conditioner, I can recommend the Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula. I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve ever used, or that it stood out in scent, ease of application or effect, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, and it is a good value product.

Review: Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner from Lush

Review- Ro's Argan body conditioner. Lush. sidneyrose.wordpress.com

I mentioned this product in my Winter Skin Revamp post, but it is so awesome that I decided to do a full review of it.

The Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner from Lush is basically a body moisturiser that you put on in the shower, and then rinse off, similar to using a hair conditioner. This stuff works amazingly well! You can certainly use it as your only body moisturiser. I tend to double up and use this about every other shower, and then apply a lotion when I get out as well, for an extra layer of skin conditioning. I find it works the best if you leave it on the skin for a minute or so before you rinse it off (again, similar to a hair conditioner).

The texture is very similar to the other body lotions from Lush (I’m thinking of Dream Cream here), but a bit thicker. It is fairly expensive I would say, but the ingredients are top notch (REAL rose absolute and argan oil) and a little goes a long way.

Apart from how well it works, my favourite thing about this product is the smell. It is the most divine rose scented product that I have ever tried. If you like the scent of real rose, you will love this. Since they use authentic rose absolute, it really smells like a rose garden or something. Ha. The scent also lasts on the skin very well. For a product that you rinse off, I would say that is pretty impressive!

This is one of my absolute favourite products from Lush and my shower wouldn’t be as good without it!

Have you tried Ro’s Argan? Do you like the idea of a Body Conditioner?

Review: Chamomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop

This cleanser. Oh man, I cannot say enough good things about it. If you have never used a hot cloth cleanser, (you need to try it immediately, if not sooner) you smooth the cleanser on, dampen a muslin cloth/flannel/face cloth with hot water and gently remove the cleanser (and dirt/makeup) from your skin.
